Aerosmith Tour Cancelled
What happens when you are really old, have pushed your body to the limit, and go on tour? You get hurt.
Think about it for a minute…we are seeing the aging founding fathers of rock start to get old and fall apart…
How old do you think these guys are anyway? When we heard that Aerosmith cancels tour, we were all bummed because this was supposed to be the make up for the last Aerosmith tour cancellation from the last tour.
Anyway, here is the lowdown on the fact that Aerosmith cancels tour.
Aerosmith Cancels Tour. Injuries to lead singer Steven Tyler prompted the band to stop a tour with ZZ Top that would have included a Sept. 10 appearance at Blossom.
Doctors advised Tyler ”to take the time to properly recuperate from the accident that resulted in a broken shoulder and stitches to his head,” said an announcement from the band.
Tyler fell from the stage during a performance of Love in an Elevator at an Aug. 5 concert during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. According to People.com, the sound went out during the song but Tyler kept performing. Then, he said, ”I zigged when I should have zagged” and slipped off the edge of the stage.
”Words can’t express the sadness I feel for having to cancel this tour,” guitarist Joe Perry said in a statement. ”We hope we can get the Aerosmith machine up and running again as soon as possible. I sure am going to miss playing with ZZ Top just as I’m sure the fans are going to miss seeing them playing with us as well. Hope to see you sooner than later.”
